April 27, 2008 - The Osterville Free Library will present The Dollmakers: Women Entrepreneurs, a 90-minute video focusing on the history of American women designers and their efforts to create the perfect play doll and the domestic doll industry. The film will start at 10:30 a.m., with doughnuts and coffee at 10 a.m. For information, call 508-428-5757.Fundraiser/luncheon hosted by the Doll Study Club of Boston, May 17, 2008 will be held at the Doubletree Guest Suites Hotel in Waltham, MA. John Burbidge, Guest Speaker. John Burbridge is the creator and designer of the “Little Ladies of Fashion,” large mannequins which he has dressed in the extravagant fashions of the 1880’s and 1890’s. He will have one of his mannequins with him, and will show his collection in a slide show.
